## Summary:
– The article features a remarkable piece of 3D animation known as “Misaligned,” which cleverly intertwines the activities of a man, a woman, a gecko, and several flies in a room.
– The animation gradually reveals analogies and connections between these entities, heightening the sense of rhythm and interaction of their respective microcosms.
– Interestingly, the depicted microcosms appear to be rhythmically interacting and connected to some grander cosmic scheme, creating a sense of unity and implication of underlying patterns of life.
# Witty Take:
Sounds like a cosmic party, am I right? I mean, we have a man, a woman, a gecko, and even flies having their own allegorical boogie-woogie in this metaphysical disco of “Misaligned.” Just when you thought 3D animation couldn’t get any deeper, it takes you on a transcendental trek into the depths of the cosmos. From terrarium rhythms to the frenetic flight of flies, creator keeps the pace pumping like a dance floor disco ball. If we take anything away from this animation, let it be this: we’re all just tiny beings having a massive party in the grand cosmic scheme of things. Now, excuse me while I put on my dancing shoes… I have a date with a gecko on the galaxy dancefloor!

Behind the Scenes…
“Misaligned”, a film by Marta Magnuska, explores the complex relationship of two characters sharing their living space.
The film draws inspiration from an Italo Calvino’s short story about a couple observing the daily ritual of a gecko hunting flies. The narrative revolves around the relationship between the man and woman, with the gecko serving as a catalyst for the unfolding events. In this coal-drawn animation, I aimed to depict the parallels between observed microcosms and various layers of reality, reflecting on our everyday routines as part of a broader mechanism.

The Making Process…
Creating “Misaligned” was a three-year journey, enriched by the collaboration of animation company Animoon and Atom Art.
We recognized “Misaligned” as an art-house film and aimed to facilitate Marta’s artistic vision rather than simply oversee the production process. We’re extremely proud of the result – a testament to Marta’s talent and passion. This intimate and relatable story warrants the attention of the Academy, and we hope our campaign will secure it an Oscar nomination.
