Who needs 3D glasses when you’ve got ‘The Glassworker’?
Get a sneak peek of the U.S. premiere of The Glassworker, Pakistan’s newest animation marvel, directed by the ace director Usman Riaz. Proudly presented by Mano Animation Studios and helmed by Usman Riaz, ‘The Glassworker’ is a painstakingly hand-drawn animated feature, richly steeped in the culture of Pakistan. It tells the moving tale of Vincent and his father Tomas, who ply the finest glass workshop in the country. Their peaceful lives are disrupted by the looming war they want no part in. When an army colonel and his gifted, violinist daughter Alliz descend on their town, it tests Vincent’s relationship with his father and sets the stage for a love story that perfectly mirrors the tumultuous times. Politics and social standing come head to head with free thought and artistry, painting a poignant picture of an era where love was a luxury. The voice overs are performed by talented actors such as Art Malik, Sacha Dhawan, Anjli Mohindra, and Tony Jayawardena. The drawn film will make its grand debut on 250 screens across the US on August 15, courtesy of Angelika NYC. In a proud moment for Pakistan, it is also the country’s official grain in the race for Best International Feature at the 97th Academy Awards. Want to know more about Mano Animation Studios?
