2024 Animarkt Stop Motion Forum Award Winners Outlined

From a pool of 120 entries across 33 countries such as India, Europe, Chile and the United States, 21 unique projects have been hailed victors in the ANIMARKT Stop Motion Forum Pitching Contest, 2024. The announcement was made during the 9th ANIMARKT gala evening on 17th October at Mediateka MeMo in Łódź, Poland.

This year’s event was one-of-a-kind, having been hosted at the newly launched Mediateka, which added a touch of elegance to the Pitching contest. The quality of projects this year was remarkable. We are honored to have been part of this platform bringing together creators, producers and animation studios from around the globe, offering the much-needed support to the unique projects. And we believe, this is just the start of their journey towards success.

A total of 21 projects were in the run for valuable rewards to boost their projects. Among them included: a token for a contribution-in-kind equivalent of PLN 40 000 from the Wrocław Feature Film Studio; an APA LAB Awards package containing a 5-night stay at Unquillo, free accreditation to the special mentoring programme APA LAB, Animond Award marketing consultations focusing on audience and funding; Dragonframe 5 software from the producer; accrediting for the Animator Pro festival and event from the Animator International Animation Film Festival; and a slot in the Young Horizons Industry Project Pool section by the organizer.

Pitching contest entrants were privy to the exceptional tutoring by industry bigwigs like Christophe Erbes, Kike Ortega, Nancy Denney-Phelps, Kerdi Oengo, and Piotr Knabe.

The Pitching section featured two categories with 11 projects picked for each this year. Both categories required that at least 80% of the animation be created using stop-motion, coupled with a sustainable production plan for the films, contributing 10% score for the overall project evaluation.
