Yes, the ‘Memoir of a Snail’ led the slow and steady race to the Cristals at Annecy 2024. But let’s not forget the undersea drama ‘Percebes,’ that clung onto victory like a stubborn barnacle on a ship’s hull. The 2024 Annecy Award Winners embody a harmonious alignment between official jury verdicts and public voting. Notably two out of three films that won public acclaim also bagged a jury award. We are immensely proud of the gender parity demonstrated in the winners list, spotlighting female creators, awarding a second Cristal for a Feature Film to Adam Elliot and wrapping-up the tribute to Portuguese animation with a Cristal for a Short Film awarded to Percebes by Laura Gonçalves and Alexandra Ramires.
