The CGI-animated TV series builds on the success of the internationally acclaimed 2018 family special Zog and its 2020 follow-up, Zog and the Flying Doctors. It intriguingly takes us through the adventures of Dragon Zog, Princess Pearl, and Sir Gadabout as they provide care for their fantastical world’s inhabitants.

This deal extends to the U.S. where it includes all TV series consumer products and licensing rights.

We are excited about our partnership with Magic Light Pictures, who are giants in the global animation industry. We share a passion for creative excellence, character nurturing, and bringing stories to life. Zog’s universal theme of caring fits perfectly with our pre-school portfolio. We are eager to captivate global audiences with it.

The UK and Germany, where the TV series has been commissioned by BBC Children’s and Education and ZDF respectively, are not included in this deal. Magic Light Pictures remains in control of all Zog licensing rights in the UK and Europe, alongside the globally acclaimed Gruffalo and Friends licensing and distribution programme.

It’s worth noting that Zog has become a popular sensation with over 4.5 million books sold worldwide, second only to The Gruffalo by Julia and Axel.
