UK’s Cantilever Media ties up with DNEG’s ReDefine Originals to produce kids and family animation films
To give a new visual experience to children and families, UK’s Cantilever Media and DNEG’s ReDefine Originals have joined hands to create two to three animated features annually for three years. The UK rights to these projects will be held by Cantilever Media’s Kazoo Films while Prime Focus Studios will co-produce.
The exciting collaboration, already at work on a project – Bollywoof with Newscope Films, anticipates its release on Sky Cinema in Q3 2027.
In addition to Bollywoof, Cantilever Media, the creator of The Amazing Maurice, has other projects in the pipeline, including The Amazing Maurice 2 with Germany’s Ulysses Filmproduktion and Unstable with Carpe Diem Productions in Canada.
Cantilever Media’s Andrew Baker expresses his anticipation towards the new venture, citing the constructive partnership with ReDefine Originals and their ability to work independently, from project inception to release.
Greg Gavanski of ReDefine Originals is also excited about the collaboration, aiming to create pioneering CG animated features using innovative production workflows. They hope to set new standards for independent animation, leveraging design, storyboarding, editorial, and all stages of the animation process.
