The UK/UA Animation Lab is shaping up to be the Hogwarts for animation talent, transfiguring raw artistic potential into spellbinding animated wonders. So, pull up a digital seat and brew some e-coffee ’cause the world is about to witness some ‘skwigly’ amazing 3D masterpieces onboard!
In a groundbreaking initiative, Skwigly, in association with the LINOLEUM Animation Festival, launched the UK/UA Animation Lab programme. Designed to champion the growth and skillset of Ukrainian animation talent, we have successfully tailored personalized mentorship programs for three up-and-coming Ukrainian animators by pairing them with three proficient British directors. The mentorship program is well underway and now includes work presentations at both the LINOLEUM (Ukraine) and Manchester Animation Festival (UK).
We are excited to unveil the autumn schedule of our six FREE online lectures open to all animators within the UK/UA Animation Lab program and beyond.
Each lecture, spanning approximately 75-minutes including a Q&A, occurs every other Wednesday afternoon (4pm UK time). The aim of these sessions is to shed light on how the animation industry operates, the art of project pitching, effective self-promotion, and much more.

The UK/UA Creative Partnerships programme sets out to maintain and bolster the creative interactions that have surfaced between the cultural organizations in the UK and Ukraine due to or in conjunction with the UK/Ukraine Cultural Season 2022-2023.
