Big Reveal: Cloth Cat Academy Launches Production Traineeship with Creative Wales & S4C Support (Image: Cloth Cat)
We are proud to launch the much-anticipated Cloth Cat Academy Production Traineeship at our expansive Cardiff studio, with full backing by the Welsh Government via Creative Wales. The Creative Skills Fund, integral to our mission of developing a diverse, robust creative workforce in Wales, fuels our programme.
Our Cloth Cat Academy is dedicated to honing the craft of animation and game developers in Wales. We focus on practical training, state-of-the-art software, superior classroom facilities within a working studio, and robust networking opportunities – all under the auspices of the Creative Skills Fund. Our academy is equipped to propel your animation career to new heights.
We have enlisted six prodigiously talented animation trainees to join our distinguished studio in Cardiff. Each trainee will receive their inaugural production credit while earning a decent wage. Over eight weeks, our successful candidates will work as Moho animators on a short film project, in collaboration with S4C, gaining priceless one-to-one industry experience.
Our Moho trainees will gain hands-on production experience, helping the Cloth Cat team through various stages of the process. They’ll be prepping scenes, crafting assets, setting up shots, and refining their animation skills under the expert tutelage of industry veteran, Dani Abram.
Our Creative Skills Fund is crucial for nurturing Wales’ creative talents, securing numerous invaluable placements for young people to gain industry insights and craft a striking portfolio for career advancement. Congratulations to our six trainees on this short film—we eagerly await the final cut. Llongyfarchiadau!
Jack Sargeant, Culture Minister
