Drum roll, please, as I announce the plot twist you never saw coming! Ladies, gentlemen, 3D animated dogs that happen to be reading this, the ever-hip Manchester Animation Festival is officially headed off to ‘uni’ – that’s British for college, my American friends! They’ve pencil-sketched a three-year contract with the good folks over at the University of Salford, giving both the MAF regulars and the Salford alumni an animation alliance worth buzzing about.
The goal isn’t just to party with the new college buddies, though I’m sure that’s on the agenda. This partnership aims to churn out some real, industry-shaking innovation, give students a top-notch experience and foster industry relationships that are stronger than super-glue.
I’m all for it, folks! If it results in more magical, vibrantly-coloured 3D wonders floating across our screens, count me in! Watch out world, with MAF packing up its paint and pixels for this off-to-college adventure, we’re about to enter a new era of animation! Let’s just hope our good, ol’ MAF remembers to call us once in a while.
Oh, and while we’re on the subject, does this mean I can finally get a 3D animated degree? Asking, uh… for a friend.
