MVD Entertainment Group is set to launch North American screening of the hit animations by renowned director Signe Baumane’s (Rocks in My Pockets) including her award-winning animation film My Love Affair With Marriage. Starring huge names such as Dagmara Dominczyk, Matthew Modine, Michele Pawk, Stephen Lang, and Cameron Monaghan, MVD plans on the North American debut to happen on Bluray and DVD September 9th.
The narrative of My Love Affair With Marriage unfolds against the backdrop of momentous events in Eastern Europe. It chronicles the protagonist, Zelma’s exploration of romantic involvements, each of them altering her perception of love and marriage. In this brutally honest depiction, she struggles to reconcile the polar forces of passion and disappointment, personal wants, fears, and self-doubt, showcasing a raw and intimate exploration of the human heart.
My Love Affair With Marriage made its debut at the Tribeca Festival in June 2022 and went on to be showcased at over 110 film festivals globally, claiming 25 awards. Baumane completed an extensive tour across the U.S., delivering the film to audiences directly, hosting Q&As, and handing out original sketches from the film.
Baumane acknowledges the labor-intensive nature of animation production. Nonetheless, she expresses immense satisfaction with the audience’s response to the film. The story’s themes of love, marriage, and individuality managed to strike a chord among audiences across different cultures and genders.
Baumane and her life partner and producer, Sturgis Warner, both share their excitement to partner with MVD for a wider distribution of the film in North America.
