Making Light of Real-Life Experience
Not every day do we come across a 3D animation film dealing with something as profound as a post-operative existential crisis. Yet, it seems life rolled out the red (or should we say surgically sterile white) carpet for some surgical humor. And here’s the rub, my fellow wannabe toons, animated laughter is the best medicine.
Boy, talk about going under the knife and getting a film out of it! If I had known this was an option, my last trip to the dentist could have become a comedic adventure about a wisdom tooth with ambition. But heart-healthy props to this animator for making ‘Mee & Burd,’ a tale with good vibes amid the IV drips.
We raise our glasses (filled with nothing stronger than apple juice, of course) to the brave souls who make the best out of the strangest of life events. After all, what is animation if not an escape and exploration of what real life brings us? Sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s tragic, but it’s always entertaining. Remember, my dear readers, even when life gives you stitches, there’s always an animation sketch not too far behind!
