Your favorite animation fiesta is back, folks! Yes, the Anibar International Animation Festival is rolling out the animation carpet for its 16th edition. Not to mention, this year they’re bringing together a ‘Justice League’ of animation connoisseurs to judge these artistic competitions. I’m talking about a group of professionals so diverse and experienced, they could probably decipher the plot of ‘Inception’ in the first viewing (the dream within a dream, remember?). Their collective sensibilities tend to be more alchemical than chemical reactions when it comes to spotting talent. Hold on tight, animation enthusiasts, because this festival promises to be more epic than a Pixar crossover event! Remember, no post-credits scene here, so savor every pixel!

Spotlight on the passionate professionals who will be judgement with discernment at this year’s Anibar film festival. A group of skilled individuals have been assembled to form our jury for the several competitive categories of our 16th edition. Their unique experiences, perspectives and intuition will assist in giving due recognition to the varied voices, styles and narratives in this year’s lineup.

Jury for International & Balkan Competition

Helga Fodorean
An expert in cultural management and film production, Helga’s filmography includes the acclaimed short Amok. Currently serving as the president and financial director of Animest, her mission is to uplift women in animation.

Laura Almantaitė
An experienced festival director and producer, Laura specializes in international co-productions revolving around social issues. She heads the BLON Animation and Games Festival and is also an alumnus of Sorbonne University.

Marko Tadić
An accomplished artist with expertise spanning drawing, installation, and animation. Marko, Croatia’s representative at the 57th Venice Biennale, presently imparts his knowledge at the Academy of Arts in Zagreb.

Tal Kantor
Known for her Oscar®-nominated film, Letter to a Pig, Tal is also a proficient visual artist and educator at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. Her films intricately weave documentary storytelling with animated elements.

Tomek Popakul
Renowned for his distinctive visual style displayed in films like Ziegenort, Acid Rain, and Zima, Tomek currently crafts his own tarot deck alongside producing experimental music under the alias ASTMA.

Jury for Human Rights & Animated Music Video

Anna Vasova
Co-founder of animation studio 13ka, Anna is a producer and screenwriter who has also served as a program director at Czech TV. She currently mentors at FAMU and contributes to international animation projects.

Draško Ivezić
A versatile talent with capabilities in direction, scriptwriting, production, and voice acting. Draško’s contributions include founding Adriatic Animation and producing award-winning short films screened at esteemed festivals such as Annecy, Sundance, and Berlinale.

Yves Nougarede
A seasoned veteran from Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Yves has spent decades meticulously selecting films and shaping VR programming. His legacy stands strong despite his departure from the festival.

Jury for Student Competition & Pitch- It

Bastien Dubois
Best known for his Oscar-nominated film, Madagascar, A Journey Diary, Bastien’s work mirrors his global inspirations. He also supports budding animators through his founded NGO, Art Brutal.

Rianne Stremmelaar
Hailing from the Netherlands, Rianne is an animation filmmaker and illustrator. Her unique storytelling often includes human-animal relationships. She also educates others about animation at Artez Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Zwolle.

Vasco Sá
One of the founders of BAP-Animation Studios, his collaborations with David Doutel have produced notable films like Garrano and Augur. He plays a dual role in both artistic and production capacities.

Jury for Young Audience Competition

Mentor: Vessela Dantcheva
An animation director and producer, Vessela is a co-founder of Compote Collective supporting over 45 animated projects. She regularly imparts her knowledge teaching and serving as a jury member at international festivals.

Leka Gjonbalaj
A self-taught visual artist, Leka specializes in oil painting, mural art, and character design. Her artwork showcases vivid individualistic perspectives.

Gent Ademaj
Coming from Kosovo, Gent is a motion designer creating practices in digital content, 3D animations and visual identities with a futuristic touch.

Rina Lasku
An Anibar Animation Academy graduate, Rina combines painting and narrative elements in her 2D animated films.

Rrezarta Sadriu
A Lucerne animation student, Rrezarta incorporates a robust design foundation with her rich cultural background to create stylized and emotionally engaging animations.
