It seems like our favorite woolly character isn’t ready to be put out to pasture just yet. Three decades after his baa-tastic debut in the Oscar-winning Wallace & Gromit animation, Shaun the Sheep is returning to our screens with a new series by the BBC. Conveniently coinciding with the announcement of his third feature film (talk about sheep multitasking!), this beloved stop-motion character is showing us all that age isn’t just wool-deep. Here’s to 30 years and counting for Shaun’s reign supreme—on our TVs, our movie theaters, and our heartstrings. Like a fine yarn, seems like Shaun is just getting better with age!

The long-awaited Shaun the Sheep’s third feature film is set to hit screens soon, along with a brand-new series set to debut on CBBC, BBC One, and BBC iPlayer on 24th May.

Marking Shaun’s 30th anniversary in the entertainment industry, the 7th season of Shaun the Sheep is created by the renowned independent studio, Aardman, and opens with a double episode feature named ‘Shirleyverse’ which finds Shaun questioning his reality after a wish gone wrong.

The seventh installment of Shaun the Sheep continues its fun-filled journey capturing the lives of Shaun, the loyal sheepdog Bitzer, and their fun-loving flock at Mossy Bottom Farm. Expect a plethora of relatable scenarios and warm, rural humour spun into comedic gold by the flock

The brain-child of Richard Starzak, this season is directed by Seamus Malone of Lloyd of the Flies fame, and has Danny Gallagher, Jacqueline White, Carla Shelley, and Sarah Cox at the helm.

The voices of Justin Fletcher and John Sparkes bring the characters to life. This series is a co-production of WDR Germany and was commissioned by Patricia Hidalgo, Director of BBC Children’s & Education and Sarah Muller.

Before the new series, the 30th-anniversary airing of A Close Shave will be presented at 3 pm, followed by the most recent Wallace & Gromit film – Vengeance Most Fowl on BBC1. Back-to-back episodes of Shaun the Sheep will be aired on CBBC, followed by the Shaun the Sheep Movie at 5 pm. Further episodes will air at 7 am on weekdays from Monday 26 May on CBBC.
