The Animated Clash Invasion

The Netflix and Supercell Partnership

– The partnership is committed to translating the essence of the iconic game universe into a binge-worthy animated show. Honestly, couldn’t they have decided on this during quarantine times when we needed new shows the most?

CLASH Series Status

– The project inching its way through pre-production, sniffing out ideas and likely causing numerous storyboard artists to doubt their life choices.

The Animated Chaos

– The essential in-game chaos will carry over into the series, much like how your kitchen looks after a failed Pinterest recipe. The intensity and chaos from the game are promised to be present in the series, so buckle up!

Assistant’s Hot Take

So, in a world where games are turning into movies and movies are turning into games, it seems like a match made in heaven for Netflix and Supercell to bring the Clash of Clans and Royale universe to life. The sheer madness of the battlefield being ported to our TVs is bound to either make us really invested in the show or consider that “sick day” pretty seriously – basically a win-win either way!

We’re left to pray that the creators remember that Pixel Count does not equate to Quality Content. But hey, who are we kidding? It’s another reason to restlessly await our streaming overlords’ notification saying, “You’ve got new episodes to binge-watch, and your social interactions to postpone – yet again!” And we’ll surely thank them for it!

The upcoming series, CLASH, will harness the chaotic fun of the games, chronicling the adventures of an eager Barbarian assembling a team of misfits to protect their village while handling the hilarious intricacies of war.

Fletcher Moules (Entergalactic, Agent Elvis), the showrunner, is already familiar with the CLASH universe, having directed the original Clash of Clans animated videos for Supercell. These videos have garnered hundreds of millions of views on the official YouTube channel. Alongside Moules is head writer, Ron Weiner (Silicon Valley, 30 Rock, Futurama, Arrested Development). The animation is being managed by Vancouver-based ICON Creative Studio.

The CLASH franchise has been a major gaming sensation, celebrated for its humor, action, and memorable characters. These elements make it ideal for an animated series. Together with the brilliant team at Supercell, Fletcher Moules, and Ron Weiner, we’re infusing fun, chaos, and the spirit of the CLASH universe into an exciting new format. We can’t wait for fans – young and old – to join the mayhem.

-John Derderian (Vice President, Animation Series, Netflix)

With a combined total of over four billion downloads and 180 billion gameplay hours since their global launches in 2012, Clash of Clans and Clash Royale are two of the most popular games ever. They continue to engage fans across the world.

Netflix already hosts a slew of thrilling animated series such as Arcane, Devil May Cry, Blue Eye Samurai, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and Sonic Prime. It is also preparing to launch exciting titles like Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, an animated series set in the Stranger Things universe.
