‘Tabby McTat’, from the creators of best-selling children’s books Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, recounts the touching story of a street performer, Fred, and his delightful singing cat Tabby, navigating their way back to each other in bustling London city.
Aired on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Christmas Day 2023, the captivating animation drew an audience of 8.6 million viewers, making it the most-watched animated feature from UK broadcasters over the holiday season.

‘Tabby McTat’ narrated by ex-Dr Who, Jodie Whittaker, boasts of an exceptional voice-over cast including Sọpẹ Dìrísù, Cariad Lloyd, Joanna Scanlan, Susan Wokoma and Rob Brydon as Fred. It was crafted by directors Jac Hamman and Sarah Scrimgeour, producers Barney Goodland and Michael Rose, and animation by Red Star Studio to the music of René Aubry.
