The Azerbaijan Animation Association is set to conduct the 8th ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival from 3-7 September 2025, in Baku, Azerbaijan. Animation experts, aficionados, and studios are called to join the competition, with film submissions open on the FilmFreeway festival platform until 15th June 2025. Submitted films are to comply with the following criteria: Aligned with this year’s theme – Cats, the festival has introduced a novel category, “Best Film about Cats”. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR FILM! ANIMAFILM Festival fuels creativity in animated films, inspiring social change, and helping diverse groups connect. Established in 2018, ANIMAFILM has become a distinct, annual platform, involving children, youth, animation directors, and studios, facilitating international exposure, connecting with both local and foreign animation professionals, screening numerous animated films, and hosting a variety of events, masterclasses, conferences, concerts, performances, and exhibitions. The festival’s program covers local and international competitions, non-competitive screenings, professional sessions, and supplementary events. In 2024, the ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival earned a spot in the prestigious “BAFTA Festivals List” by theBritish Academy of Film and Television Arts.
