Released on Apple TV+ in November, this film swapped out carrots for awards, nabbing itself Best Fiction Special and Phoenix. Seems like Magic Light Pictures has found the right kind of magic, high-quality 3D animation, and a story that warms the cockles of your heart, as spicy as a carrot hot-pot. Not even the Energizer Bunny could keep up with this!

Renowned family film maker Magic Light Pictures is rejoicing a double win at the 3rd Annual Children’s & Family Emmy® Awards for its heart-touching movie The Velveteen Rabbit, which emphasizes the beauty of unwavering love.

The film debuted on Apple TV+ in November 23 and earned awards for Best Fiction Special and Phoenix Laroche was recognized as Best Young Performer in a Preschool, Children’s or Young Teen Program for his role as William.

This recognition reaffirms Magic Light Pictures’s extraordinary consistency with the Emmy® awards, having recently bagged the Best Kids Animation award for Tabby McTat at the International Emmys® in November. Moreover, they’ve previously received accolades for noteworthy movies like Room on the Broom, Revolting Rhymes, Zog and The Smeds and the Smoos.

Based on the cherished children’s book by Margery Williams, “The Velveteen Rabbit” showcases the enchantment of unwavering love. The story unfolds when seven-year-old William receives a new toy for Christmas, finding not just a toy, but a lifelong friend and a magical journey.

The star-studded special runs for 40-minutes featuring voices from Alex Lawther as the Velveteen Rabbit, Helena Bonham Carter as Wise Horse, Nicola Coughlan as Playroom Fairy, Bethany Antonia as White Rabbit, Lois Chimimba as Mechanical Car, Paterson Joseph as King, Clive Rowe as Lion, Nathaniel Parker as Brown Rabbit, and introducing Phoenix Laroche as William. Crafted meticulously by Magic Light Pictures co-founder Martin Pope with a script by Bafta winner Tom Bidwell.
