We’re thrilled to announce that the ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival has been embraced into the highly respected BAFTA Qualifying Festivals List, in recognition of our dedication towards fostering excellence in the field of animation and nurturing talented filmmakers.

The prestigious British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) upholds strict selection standards for its Qualifying Festivals List. Attaining this honor not only validates the impact of our festival but also offers a spectacular opportunity for filmmakers who present their work at ANIMAFILM to qualify for a BAFTA.

The British Short Animation category aims to celebrate and support the best of British short animation. Our inclusion in the Qualifying Festivals List assists BAFTA in identifying these outstanding showcase pieces.

The ANIMAFILM Festival will now have the privilege to nominate exceptional British short animated films for the British Short Animation category at the BAFTA Film Awards. This BAFTA qualifying status is specifically applicable to British short animated films and co-productions with the UK.

Entries are now open for the BAFTA British Short Animation award, and the submission period ends on Friday 18 October at 12:00 GMT.
