The ANIMASYROS 2025 lineup includes 8 contest categories, exclusive tributes, The Agora – the Eastern Mediterranean’s animation hotspot, educative sessions, VR experiences, auxiliary events, and fresh international and local partnerships.
The main theme for this year’s extravaganza, termed Animated Cosmos, revolves around space. The Festival explores this boundless and unknown sphere through the lens of animation.
ANIMASYROS 2025 appreciates Central Europe’s booming animation scene with a special homage to Croatia, curated by Daniel Šuljić, the creative mind behind ANIMAFEST ZAGREB.
The vibrant ANIMASYROS Agora continues its strategic alliance with the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, thanks to the Pitching Forum initiated in 2024, supported by the French Institute of Greece. This year’s Agora will host various dialogues, presentations, masterclasses, networking occasions, speed dating sessions, and work-in-progress showcases that offer professionals inimitable opportunities to showcase their work, connect with industry pioneers, and initiate international coalitions.
Greek animation still remains at the heart of the festival. In light of this, The Great Greek Masters – a tribute and exhibition curated by noteworthy director and animator Kleopatra Korai and visual artist Dimitris Bellos – respects Greek animation front-runners. Furthermore, the popular Animation Agora Days for Greek creators will be held in Athens, before the festival commences.
As is the norm, the ANIMASYROS 2025 educational blueprint offers animation tutorials for every age and skill level. This year, these sessions promise to be more..stellar than ever! The educational workshops inspired by the festival’s central theme have already begun.

A native of Washington, D.C., Alexandra pursued Fine Arts at NYU before falling in love with the Cretan lifestyle during her summer trips to Chania.
