Simone Giampaolo, a Swiss Director based in London, is known for his passion for heartfelt storytelling, emotionally-charged narratives, and quirky characters. In 2013, he graduated with top honours from the BA (Hons) Computer Animation Art & Design course at the National Centre for Computer Animation in Bournemouth (UK). He’s directed a string of highly acclaimed short films, including the Oscar shortlisted and BAFTA-nominated ‘Only a Child’.
In recent years, he’s put his skills to work on various projects, partnering with clients such as Netflix, Google, Cartoon Network, Disney, LEGO, Nickelodeon, Marvel, Pokemon, and the BBC, whilst working alongside esteemed studios like Jellyfish Pictures, Axis Studios, Nathan Love, Blue Zoo, Ritzy Animation, and Aardman.
As a board member of the London ACM Siggraph and View Conference, Simone also mentors aspiring animators and filmmakers by conducting lectures and masterclasses at prestigious universities, festivals, and conventions around the world.
Fresh off directing the beloved Netflix show ‘Bad Dinosaurs’, Simone is now focused on Paramount/Channel 5’s original series ‘Stan & Gran’, along with developing a hush-hush feature film project with Timeless Films.
