The preview offers an enticing glimpse of Jack and Nancy, a captivating story of cheer, camaraderie, and escapade. UK families can enjoy the first two spectaculars, Jack and Nancy and Zagazoo, during this holiday season.
Adrian Lester is set to narrate every episode of the Quentin Blake’s Box of Treasures series, featuring local Welsh artists in major voice roles in Jack and Nancy, and Simon Pegg starring in Zagazoo.
Simon Pegg also takes up pivotal voice roles in Snuff and Angel Pavement, with Alison Steadman as the voice of the indefatigable Mrs Armitage, and Nina Sosanya personifying Angela Bowling in Loveykins.
The curated animated series, based on six of Sir Quentin Blake’s acclaimed best-sellers (Jack and Nancy, Zagazoo, Loveykins, Snuff, Angel Pavement, and Mrs Armitage on Wheels) showcases traditional hand-drawn animation styles to emulate the unique tone of the author’s narratives. Quentin Blake’s Box of Treasures is poised to enrich the BBC’s rich heritage of animated features.
Quentin Blake’s Box of Treasures, a BBC Children’s commission, is produced by Eagle Eye Drama in collaboration with Creative Conspiracy, Spicy Acorn, Tchack, and Kong Studios. It’s directed by Gerrit Bekers under the creative guidance of Eagle Eye’s animation director Massimo Fenati.
