And now for the hot take! Talk about a maritime adventure, all without getting our feet wet! The 7th Voyage of Lusitania managed to outdo Jack Sparrow by getting a whopping 49 ‘cinematic sailors,’ instead of just a motley crew of pirates. By professional, students, or the ‘most’ – whatever that means, every participant is metaphorically sailing into the vast ocean of animated documentaries (talk about a sea of passion, am I right?). And this isn’t any ordinary journey – no siree; it’s a floating film festival celebrating diversity and art. So, wrap up folks, brace yourself for a wild and artsy cruise where creativity knows no borders!

We’re thrilled to unveil the selections for the 7th installment of Lusitania’s cinematic journey, following an unprecedented number of 716 submissions from nearly 100 nations.
Join us to follow the journey of 49 selected global filmmakers from 27 countries, set to embark on this artistic voyage. Divided into categories: 18 in professional, 12 in student, and 10 in the intriguing MOCK<anima>DOC category. Furthermore, 9 films will be showcased in the non-competitive segment, PANORAMIC VIEW FROM THE COMMAND DECK.
Every year, our Professional and Student juries, comprised of animation and documentary experts, have the daunting task of selecting the best films from the submissions. This year is no different, and we look forward to seeing the audiences partake in this cinematic adventure at the alternative art club UV.
The 7th RISING OF LUSITANIA will be unfolding in Lodz (the name translates to BOAT in Polish), across the three Sundays of September (07, 14, 21), culminating on October 12th, with a special showcase from the COMMAND DECK, and the European premiere of the Spanish documentary- PALOMA NEGRA: THE QUEEN OF AMPHETAMINES.
