Introducing The Defenders of HOLT
Roo, Umba, and Metric – three schoolmates from Planet Eire – are thrown abruptly together when their field trip goes wrong, leading their spaceship to crash on Fomoire, an ancient alien prison planet filled with menacing creatures, clandestine secrets, and immense dangers.
In a twist of fate, they stumble upon Jeannie, a mysterious prism that grants them an extraordinary power to merge into a formidable super-being called HOLT! Nonetheless, they face a bitter reality – the fusion lasts only briefly before they get detangled. This becomes stumbling when battling against threatening creatures!
A malevolent force known as the Blight is ready to engulf the galaxy. To save their home, our improbable heroes must decipher the secrets of Fomoire, seek allies, and stave off the looming threat – the only way to return to Planet Eire is to save the universe first. Talk about a tough job!
A Benchmark in Irish Animation
Conceived by the award-winning Igloo Animations, known for their work on “Tales from Dun Draíochta” (Winner of Best Series and Best Script at the Irish Animation Awards in 2023), HOLT is anticipated to be a visually mesmerizing and action-filled adventure that displays the best of Ireland’s animation industry.
Holt is our dream project and reflects our passion for animation. This show embodies creativity, storytelling, and the exceptional Irish animation industry. We can’t wait to introduce HOLT to the Irish audience and hope that it amuses the young viewers as much as the shows we loved during our childhood.
-Trevor Courtney (Producer/Director of Igloo Animations)
I am exhilarated for the series to hit our screens. Holt encapsulates the core elements of a compelling sci-fi animation series – brilliant characters, ingenious storytelling, thrilling villains, and plenty of emotions. It gives a nostalgia trip to the animation we grew up with and I am confident that a whole new audience will be hooked to their screens, cheering for Roo, Umba, and Metric along their adventurous quest to return home.
