**Closing Paragraph (Hot Take):**
Life in 3D animation isn’t all goofy dances and funny shapes! Even our beloved characters occasionally put on their business hats and journey across country borders. Make no mistake, Tulipop is ready to put on a full-on stage show in France and Italy. Smells like the French are going to taste the Icelandic delights, while the Italians are prepping for some mind-boggling animation pasta! And let’s not forget our faithful friends in Norway, they’re going back for seconds. Watch out world, Tulipop is coming to add a sprinkle of magic everywhere!
Italian network RAI has snapped up all 52 episodes of Tulipop Tales from animation production company The Animation Band for their children’s channel Rai Yoyo and online streaming service Rai Play, with plans to debut the series in Italy this year. Meanwhile, French broadcaster TF1 has also seized all 52 episodes of Tulipop Tales for its widely-used TFou Max streaming service, and in Norway, NRK has agreed to an additional 26 episodes, making it a total of 52.
Joining the ranks are several other stations and networks from around the globe, including SÍminn in Iceland, YLE in Finland, MBC in the Middle East, Canal+ in Poland, Tele-Québec in Canada and Showmax South Africa, broadcasting the series that caters to upper preschool demographics. Multiple stations throughout the Nordic region, including RÚV in Iceland, NRK in Norway, SVT in Sweden, DR in Denmark and Svenska YLE in Finland, have also ordered the creation of three TV specials – known as Tulipop Seasons, penned by renowned Emmy award winner Robert Vargas along with Deanna Oliver, Sherri Stoner, and Sean Carson.
The consumer products branch of Tulipop recently brokered an exciting deal with MBC Licensing in the Middle East, following the launch of Tulipop Tales on MBC 3 earlier this year. Additionally, Tulipop Studios has inked a global music publication arrangement with Peer Music, bringing the first two volumes of Tulipop Tunes to all primary music platforms, underlining the significance of original music in every episode, coupled with the memorable characters and the setting of Tulipop Island.
At its core, the overarching goal of Tulipop is to impart important life lessons to children, instill the importance of friendships, and inspire confidence through captivating and amusing adventures rooted in the beautiful Nordic scenery. A blend of Icelandic and international writers, including lead writers Sara Daddy (Claude, Puffin Rock) and Emma Boucher (Messy goes to Okido, Go Jetters), crafted the Tulipop Tales series. This series was brought to life in collaboration with Dr. Natascha Crandall, an educational consultant with extensive experience in children’s media with a focus on fostering child development through powerful media.
Helga Árnadóttir, the CEO & Producer of Tulipop Studios, shared her excitement:
We are thrilled to have RAI and TF1 join our roster of broadcast partners, and the continued support from NRK demonstrates the positive reception of the show. We’ve aimed to carefully strategize our TV sales on a per-territory basis, while simultaneously building an international licensing program for the brand. With the addition of MBC Licensing to handle merchandise within their region, we’re eager to continue delivering Tulipop’s enchanting, modern-day fairytales filled with catchy tunes and diverse characters to an ever-growing, global child audience.
Produced by Tulipop Studios in Iceland, in collaboration with The Animation Band in Italy, Tulipop Tales is overseen by Producer Helga Árnadóttir, Art Director Signý Kolbeinsdóttir, and Director Sigvaldi J. Kárason.
