Greenlighted by BBC Children’s & Education and France Télévisions, the new series Vanishing Point, from the BAFTA-winning creators Tom Gran and Martin Woolley, is made for children aged 8+ and consists of 26 episodes, each 22 minutes long.
The plot of Vanishing Point revolves around a group of four teenagers whose lives are thrown into chaos when their town is infested by ordinary items possessing strange and unpredictable powers.
Based in the rundown seaside town of Vanishing Point, the series introduces our unlikely heroes Ivy, Cole, Zefi, and Splash, who team-up with the grumpy junkyard owner and expert of the bizarre objects, Bernie, to uncover the mystery of these items.
Protecting their town from the strange objects thought to have extra-dimensional powers trapped inside, become a thrilling adventure for these youngsters.
The variety of strange items, ranging from a fridge magnet creating havoc by manipulating metal items to a bow tie that forces its wearer to disclose their deepest feelings, ensures new excitement and fun in every episode.
The plot thickens with the presence of ominous inter-dimensional agents trying covertly to drain the town of its cosmic energy.
Vanishing Point promises a refreshing mix of comedy-action storytelling, injecting robust humor into thrill-packed escapades.
BBC Studios Kids & Family collaborates with France’s Watch Next Media and Ireland’s Kavaleer Productions, for this exciting coproduction commissioned by the BBC Children’s & Education for CBBC and also by France Télévisions. Support from Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland and CNC, France has also been crucial in the production of this series.
