BBC Studios Puts on Blinkers for 3D Animation Future

First Look Deal Sealed with Blink Industries

BBC Studios has always been a titan in the world of children’s entertainment, but their recent move speaks volumes about their own commitment to quality animation. While they might seem kid-friendly, their sharp business move to strike a first-look deal with Blink Industries clearly shows they know how to navigate the treacherous waters of animation contract deals.

Exclusive Right to Creative Ice Cream sundae?

Who doesn’t love exclusive rights to a Sundae of creativity? With all the flavours to choose from, BBC Studios Kids & Family gets to take the first bite. That’s right; they have first dibs on all content flowing from the imaginative minds at Blink Industries. Now, if only we could get such first-look rights on cinnabons at your local bakery!

An Eye for Profits and 3D Pebbles

The deal marks a new journey for them in the realm of 3D animation, and you know what they say, “The first step is the hardest.” But with Blink Industries as their creative sherpa, there’s a high chance they’ll be able to avoid the metaphorical animation avalanches.

In a nutshell, I’d say BBC Studios Kids & Family has bribed the bouncer and effectively cut the animation queue. Kudos to them for making us all feel like we’re still waiting for our mom to pick us up from the movies while they’re already at home, feet up, watching new unreleased cartoons! Gosh, now, don’t we all wish we were BBC Studios … or at least own some 3D glasses?

This creative collaboration hands over exclusive access to the up and coming animation and live action series produced by Blink Industries for two years. This step aims to accelerate the global presence of Kids & Family and introduce fresh content to wider audiences.

Blink Industries, a multi-award-winning UK production and development studio, is known for its artistic, multi-format approach to the kids and family genre.

The studio is responsible for the animated remake of the well-loved story Peter and the Wolf, an association with BMG. This features Gavin Friday’s music and narration accompanied by Bono’s original illustrations. BBC Studios Kids & Family is the chief distributor for this project.

In addition to the popular series Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared, Dead End: Paranormal Park and The Grumpy King also form part of Blink’s portfolio. Besides boasting an impressive credit list, Blink also operates a 120-seat animation studio, a computer games division, and a host of in-house talents.

Filled with anticipation about collaborating with Blink Industries, we’re forming a powerhouse partnership. Our shared creative goals will enable us to develop unique content for kids and family audiences globally. Blink’s innovative approach paired with the business and creative acumen of BBC Studios is bound to kickstart a highly successful association.
